Our first season of Open Strings, led by the Tampa Metropolitan Youth Orchestra, was a success. For three months, seven 10-14 year-olds met at our center for 2 hours, 2 nights per week to learn the basics of the violin. Children were provided the instruments and lessons completely free of charge. The only commitment was their time and enthusiasm.
We are proud to partner with TMYO on this amazing program and while our center doesn't benefit financially, we certainly benefit in the joy we receive watching these kids grow in ability and confience.
We held a small show for their families in December and classes will resume for this group on January 27th.
